POM POM DIY

House of Holland skirt - HERE

Hello :)

So this is my long overdue DIY post, and now Im thinking that maybe I should made step by step visual instruction - but this is so easy that I think this time we will do without it very well.
When I first saw this skirt I was in love - but the price was just too pricey, and this is just too easy to make at home.
Although in original skirt is used thick jersey fabric, I used woolen fabric skirt which already had at home, I got it from thrift store. And my skirt have slits and they are longer than original - so you can make such skirt in fabric and color of your choice.
About feather trim - now I see that I should made bigger pom poms, but oh well I didnt want to make exact copy of HOH skirt.
I just cut the trim in about 10 cm long pieces and connected the ends with hot gun and made the feather trim circles or pom poms, and then sew them on the skirt with needle and thread.
The total cost of this skirt should be under 10.00 GBP if you use thrifted skirt as a base and but trims at your local store.

Also wearing Asos coat and sunglasses, H&M shoes, Zara necklace, thrifted jumper.

Hiii,

I will not be original, and will say I have been so busy all november, new job takes all my time, although I love it.

I have started one very cool DIY project (at least I think its cool :D) - I haven't made any DIY for so long time, I hope I can soon finish it and show to you!:)

About my outfit - found this jumper at thrift store in plus size section - I couldn't leave it behind because it reminds me of ones H&M have, just so much cheaper. I just love the oversized look and as there is already below zero degree, its very practical too.

Also wearing - Asos earrings and sunglasses, zara jeans and Jeffrey Campbell boots.

Little story about Jeffrey Campbell boots - I know I have written here that I will never get rid of my JC, that I will wear them until they fall apart - well I changed my mind. First of all I just doesn't wear the boots when I go somewhere, because I can't drive car with them (its too dangerous), secondly, I started to just dislike how they look, and lastly is actually the main reason why I get rid of both JC Litas - its because Im vegetarian for over two months now and I lean towards vegan idea, and I just can't wear boots with cow fur anymore, or even calf skin, I just feel very wrong doing it, so I got rid of other leather boots too. Now Im searching for new high heeled synthetic material boots, and its actually very hard to find, because they are usually in not good quality and the assortment isn't large..so I haven't found anything good yet..

Monthly thrift finds #2

This is very late october thrift finds post - as I had predicted not every month I will have a lot of great stuff to post about - because thrift shopping is all about luck, and I could buy lots of "okay" stuff, but I only buy the things I really love and will wear, thats my main rule when it comes to shopping.
So for october month there is only one thing  - faux fur coat - just for 10.00 $ - really wanted new faux fur coat, thats why I couldnt leave it behind, considering the price. I wasnt fan of this color at first, but Im strating to like this color more and more. Only downside is the size, its UK 14, sooo little bit oversized :D But on other hand its great in winter, because there will be enough space for big chunky jumpers.

Also wearing - Thrifted sweatshirt, Zara jeans, H&M boots, ASOS sunglasses and earrings.

Electric blue paisley

" Paisley or Paisley pattern is a term in English for a design using the boteh, a droplet-shaped vegetable motif of Persian or Indian origin. Such designs became very popular in the West in the 18th and 19th centuries, following imports of post-Mughal versions of the design from British India, especially in the form of Kashmir shawls, and were then imitated locally. The pattern is sometimes called "Persian pickles" by American traditionalists, especially quilt-makers, or "Welsh pears" in Welsh textiles as far back as 1888. "

Got these jeans form Asos, they are by Just Female - I really love this brand, but for me its a bit pricey, so when I found these on sale I got to have them. I wonder why they was in stock all the sale time, and I think even now they still are available - I guess, people just doesnt like them..Im actually not huge paisley fan, but these in my opinion are just perfect because of colors and high waist. Love!

Also wearing: Oversized mohair cardigan is thrifted, belt thrifted, necklaces are vintage, shoes from H&M, sunglasses from Asos.

A lot of Grey

Today I wanted to show just some casual OOTD, and I have incorporated my new thrifted belt - I really love how such belts look with coats, not only on dresses.
Actually, I only just now realized that all of this look is trhifted, except the beanie.

I hope you dont have as cold weather as it is here - its good that I dont need to go anywhere outside - today I will practice piano, finish one little painting, and oh yes..I must sew the clothes from fabrics I ordered, but I just keep putting it back..I must admit, sometimes Im very very lazy..

P.S. Blogger is doing something strange with my photos, they have changed the color, and they doesnt look like I made them in Photocape..Not nice..

September thrift favourites # 1

Hii,
I have decided to make new blog series, actually I have never had any series before, and I think that it would be nice to have something like that on my blog, its something very similar to youtube Monthly favourites videos( love watching those). And as I really love thrift shopping, it will be easy for me to do these series, although there might be some months with zero thrift finds, because I cant be always very lucky and find great stuff, but I hope I will..:)
So for the September I have few things, that I have wanted for quite some time, and I know I will use them a lot, plus all this suff was suprisingly cheap.

The belts (btw, my BF found them for me, otherwise I just didnt see them):
Rope belt - I think it would look great  with so many things.
Metal plate belt - love that its in nude color, I ordered similar belt form Asos, but also with spikes, and as Im over spike trend, I have sold it, and Im so happy that now I have the perfect one.
Best part about both of these belts arr The Price. Total: 1.00$( yes, one dollar)

The deep ocean blue top - fist my attention grabbed the embellished sleeves, there are many sea shells on them. Then I saw that the label is Reiss, its very rare to find this brand in thrift shops, and even harder to find stuff in perfect condition - but this is in great condition, I would say its brand new. And the price was great too, considering its from Reiss - 5.00 $

Boots I got from latvian Online shop , where girls sell out their wardrobes, Im selling stuff there too, but this was first time I bought something. These boots were brand new and cost only 20.00$ - I really needed some everyday boots, but I couldnt find anything I liked, and with the price tag I like. These boots are from H&M, I think from last  Fall'12 stock, but I think they still look very on trend.

Im not going thrift shopping every day, although I wish I could. And if I could there would be much more great finds, but I try to control myself and buy only stuff I love and will wear, because I have learnt through many years of thrift shopping that otherwhise things just sit in my closet and I dont wear them.

I hope you like this post!:)

Late inspo

Dresses with tail print are from Carin Wester and all the rest are from Clover Canyon Spring 0'14 collection.

For me Clover Canyon are real heroes - because Im so into fabric prints, and these prints are amazing and so complicated in my opininon.

Not so long ago I finally received my fabrics, and now I must get my hands on transforming them into real garments. Little sneak peek was in my instagram , if you want to see how these fabrics look.

Sugarcoat

Hii,

So, as my PC was upgraded and there was missing the Microsoft Office Photo editor, I was asking you for some help, and some of you suggested to get Photoscape for editing purposes. I got it and I love it, at first I really didnt like it, as this program is different than Microsoft one, but more I use it, more I love it, especially the Movie Filters..From one side I do love natural looking photos, but at the same time I love to have some fun with editing them, especially when there are some nice sutff at the Photoscape.
Found this crop top as the part of set trousers and top at thrift shop - and I love that there is written "sugarcoat" at the front, and the brand is "8899" - I have never heard about such brand, and maybe because of that I love it even more. Maybe you have heard about such brand?
Also wearing - necklace and bag from ebay, sunnies from Asos, shoes from New Look, and the jacket, top, shorts and belt(Topshop) thrifted.

Number IX

wearing: thrifted sweatshirt, asos sunglasses, zara pants and necklace, h&m shoes.

September is on full speed, as the fall is coming very fast, and its almost there - I feel the summertime sadness as the most people, but at the same time, its nice, because I love when leaves turn colorful and I can finally star to wear jumpers, I really havent worn them since march, because the weather was really hot all the time, and I just miss jumpers..:D
Talking about numbers - september is the  the ninth month, and number nine is my lucky number, I have calculated it and tested that many times, so I have good feeling about this month. Do you believe in numerology, and that it influence how good or bad the day or month will be, and that influences life generally?:)

Baroque palace

Today I wanted to share with you some photos, which I took about week ago when I visited the Rundale palace. Its in baroque style, and its really huge and amazing! I really recommend to go there, because you can spend there all day watching and doing things.
I felt really inspired after visiting the palace - just love baroque and antique stuff even more. And I want to incorporate more baroque-like details in my room.
And this time there will not be any outfit photos - actually this location is perfect for outfit photos, but it just was'nt that day when I wanted to dress up and pose, just want feeling like it..now I regret it a bit, but oh well, I will definitely go there again!:)

There are few things in castle in which Im extra interested , one of them are the chandeliers, I really want to find something similar for my room(but not so huge and not with so many crystals I want it to be more from metal), unfortunately its not easy, because I cant buy it in regular shops, because I want to find something antique.

Other thing which I loved there are the beautiful ceilings, they are decorated with hundreds of small gyps flowers and other details - just cant stop staring..

And I found few pretty chairs - isnt they adorable?!:)
